Verizon & Snap - Science City Explorers Exhibit
New York Hall of Science - Queens, NY
2022
In 2023, the New York Hall of Science (NYSCI) partnered with Verizon and Snap to launch “Science City Explorers”, an augmented reality experience that transformed New York City into an interactive learning lab. This initiative allowed users to explore the science behind everyday public objects through AR, blending education with the urban landscape. To support its launch, NYSCI established a dedicated exhibit, introducing visitors to the experience and engaging them in a hands-on way.
As Design Director at Civic, I led the ideation and development of this exhibit, crafting an immersive display that combined video, interactive lighting, and urban-inspired graphics to seamlessly bridge the physical and digital worlds. By incorporating branding and language from the digital interface, we ensured a cohesive experience that resonated with visitors. Positioned at the museum’s entrance, the exhibit provided a compelling introduction to Science City Explorers, setting the stage for over 500,000 annual visitors to engage with science in a new and dynamic way.
